Biomedical Device Technology Program

This technical program provides education and training to cultivate biomedical equipment technicians of the quality and standard required by our country. It aims to produce highly skilled technical personnel who are knowledgeable about medical systems and equipment, understand their features, can apply their knowledge to industrial systems and equipment, and are capable of working on the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of electronic tools and devices used in the medical sector.

Students in the Biomedical Device Technology Program complete a two-year associate degree program and earn the title of “Biomedical Device Technician.”

Work Areas of Graduates of the Biomedical Device Technology Program

Biomedical device technology technicians can work in the public and private sectors, in state and private hospitals, dental hospitals, dispensaries, and companies providing services in the fields of medical device production, maintenance, repair, calibration, sales, and marketing. They can also establish their own businesses.

Biomedical Device Technology ProgramHorizontal and Vertical Transfer Opportunities

Our students can transfer to the Biomedical Device Technology programs in the Electronics and Automation Department of all Vocational Schools in Turkey during the education and training process.

Students can transfer vertically to the departments of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

ISUBU School of Technical Sciences Vocational College Biomedical Device Technology Program

The Biomedical Device Technology Program was established in 2006. Since 2014, it has continued its education and training as a program affiliated with the Department of Electronics and Automation.

The 3+1 Work-Based Vocational Training model has been implemented in the Biomedical Device Technology Program starting from the 2019-2020 academic year. The primary objective of this training model is to ensure that students at our vocational school, which aims to train qualified human resources, are prepared for employment and to increase their employability. In this program, three of the four semesters consist of formal education, while one semester consists of full-time practical training in companies. This allows our students to integrate their theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The mandatory on-the-job training that our students will undergo in workplaces during one semester enables them to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired during the academic term in relevant workplaces, thereby strengthening these characteristics. to develop their decision-making skills, to enable them to understand their responsibilities as qualified professionals in the workplaces where they will be employed, as well as employee-employer relations, organization, production and occupational safety systems, and new technologies, and to gain on-the-job experience. Detailed information about Vocational Training in the Workplace can be found on the Isparta University of Applied Sciences Vocational Schools Coordination web page (www.meyok.isparta.edu.tr).
