Civil Technology Program
 
IUAS Technical Sciences Vocational School Civil Technology program is a practice-oriented education program aimed at training qualified intermediate staff needed in the construction sector. Civil Technology Program students earn the title of 'Civil Technician' by receiving a two-year associate degree education.
 
 
Career Fields for Graduates of the Civil Technology Program
 
Graduates of the Civil Technology Program can be employed in the following areas:
Graduates of the Civil Technology program can work in all areas of the construction sector. They can work as site technicians in construction firms, inspection personnel in building inspection companies, and in drawing and project preparation tasks in architectural or engineering offices. Additionally, they work in municipalities and relevant ministries in the public sector. Besides these, they can take office in construction material production facilities (cement, concrete, etc.) and real estate offices. Graduates also have the opportunity to work as freelancers by starting their own businesses for tasks such as renovations.
 
 
IUAS Technical Sciences Vocational School Civil Technology Program
 
The Civil Technology program started its education in 1976 and has a deep-rooted history of approximately 50 years. It continues its education having been affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in 1976, Akdeniz University upon the establishment of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 1982, Süleyman Demirel University in 1992, and Isparta University of Applied Sciences in 2018. Since 2019, the 'Vocational Education in Enterprise' model, which includes courses for the first three semesters and workplace application for the fourth semester, has been implemented in the Civil Technology program.

Aim

The objective of the Civil Technology Program is; The Civil Technology Program is an associate degree program that aims to train intermediate staff for the construction sector. The objectives of the Civil Technology Program are determined as follows: To provide the knowledge and skills to perform construction manufacturing controls in accordance with regulations and standards related to the field of civil engineering; to provide the ability to draw building projects and prepare cost and work plans; to provide the ability to solve problems encountered in the working environment with technical knowledge and skills, with a sense of responsibility and business ethics; to train technical personnel who fulfill ethical and legal responsibilities by working with a sense of professional responsibility; to instill a culture of lifelong learning in students by recognizing opportunities for continuous education and professional development throughout their careers

1: To provide the knowledge and skills to perform construction manufacturing controls in accordance with regulations and standards related to the field of civil engineering.

PH1

To provide the knowledge and skills to inspect the compliance of building constructions carried out in construction projects with current national and international regulations, standards, and technical specifications.,

PH2

"To provide the competence to effectively carry out quality control, measurement, testing, and reporting processes for reinforced concrete and steel structure manufacturing in site applications,

2: To provide the ability to draw building projects and prepare cost and work plans.

To provide the ability to prepare architectural and structural drawings of building projects in accordance with the relevant regulations and standards,

To provide the knowledge and skills to prepare discovery-quantity surveys, cost analysis, and work schedules (time planning) for building projects,

3: To provide the ability to solve problems encountered in the working environment with technical knowledge and skills, while maintaining a sense of responsibility and professional ethics.

To provide the ability to analyze technical problems and generate solutions by acting with a sense of responsibility and professional ethics in both construction sites and office environments.

To provide the competence to develop effective and sustainable solutions to problems arising in work processes by using technical knowledge and skills in accordance with teamwork and communication rules in professional applications.

4: To train technical personnel who fulfill ethical and legal responsibilities by working with a sense of professional responsibility.

To train technical personnel who can fulfill their duties and responsibilities by acting within the framework of professional ethical principles and legal legislation in construction applications.

To train technical personnel with a high sense of professional responsibility who work with awareness of occupational health and safety, quality, and environmental standards in both construction site and office environments.

5: To instill a culture of lifelong learning in students by identifying opportunities for continuous education and professional development throughout their careers.

To ensure that students adopt a culture of lifelong learning by recognizing certification programs, in-service training, and opportunities for academic advancement throughout their careers.


MISSION

MISSION;To train qualified technical personnel who possess core technical competencies required by the construction sector—such as site application knowledge, project reading, and quantity surveying/cost estimation; who can effectively use AutoCAD and current professional software; who place occupational health and safety (OHS) and professional ethics at the center of their professional lives; who have developed the ability to work in compliance with regulations and standards; who possess high problem-solving and teamwork competencies; and who have adopted lifelong learning and continuous professional development as a principle.

To be a leading program that pioneers the digital transformation and technological development of the construction sector, trains qualified technical professionals who can transform theoretical knowledge into technical problem-solving skills through an application-oriented education model, adheres to ethical values and international standards, maintains strong collaborations with the industry, and aims for lifelong development.

Between November 12-15, 2023, to our Vocational School “ Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) Within the Scope of the Institutional External Evaluation Program," a site visit was conducted by the Evaluation Team.
