ISUBÜ Vocational School of Applied Sciences Optometry Program
Students wishing to study in the Optometry program must take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) administered by the Presidency of the Higher Education Council (OSYM) and obtain a sufficient score on the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT).
Students in the program receive three semesters of practical training in the Optometry Laboratory, equipped with modern machines and devices, in addition to theoretical education at school. During their education, students go to optical stores for workplace training for one semester (either the 3rd or 4th semester) as part of the “Vocational Training in the Workplace” course to reinforce the knowledge and experience they have gained. In order to graduate, students must successfully complete all courses available in the program (equivalent to a total of 122 ECTS) and achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, as well as successfully complete one semester of Workplace Training and a mandatory summer internship covering 30 working days. Detailed information about Workplace Training can be found on the Isparta University of Applied Sciences Vocational Schools Coordination web page (meyok.isparta.edu.tr). The program course contents have been updated as of the 2019-2020 academic year.
Students who graduate from the program can transfer to the Physics, Optics and Acoustics Engineering, and Physics Engineering departments through the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam).
