Students in the Textile Technology Program at Isparta University of Applied Sciences' Vocational School of Technical Sciences visited two leading manufacturers in the sector, DK Tekstil and Akatek, located in the Antalya Organized Industrial Zone, as part of a technical tour. The first stop on the tour was DK Tekstil, which has become one of Turkey's largest hotel textile suppliers with its innovative and sustainable production policies. The company produces hotel textiles for major hotel groups such as Rixos, Gloria, and The Land of Legends both domestically and internationally. Students had the opportunity to observe the production processes, various weaving machines, production lines, and quality control procedures firsthand. Their second stop was Akatek, a pioneer in technical textiles. The company maintains its leadership in the Turkish market and produces heat- and flame-resistant fabrics that are exported to North America, the Far East, and Europe. These fabrics were also used in the protective suit of the first Turkish astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı.

The students had the opportunity to visit the laboratory at Akatek, where fiber blending, yarn production, woven fabric formation, and quality testing are carried out using state-of-the-art machinery. The technical visit will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the students' education by enhancing their professional knowledge and sectoral awareness. We would like to thank DK Tekstil and Akatek for their support of the technical visit, as well as all the faculty and students who participated.
